Gino Savarino was born in Argentina on December 3, 1969.
His parents migrated to Buenos Aires from Italy and in 1978 moved from Argentina to Chicago for a better life. He is fluent
in Spanish and Italian.
Soon
after arriving to The United States, he needed some way to deal with the culture shock and for him the best way
was through painting, drawing, and listening to music. After graduating high school Gino enrolled in formal art classes
for two years and soon after started to experiment with his own techniques.
Artist's Statement: "I do
not believe there should be rules and guidelines in art. If you truly feel what you've created comes from the heart,
it's already a masterpiece. There is nothing more rewarding than to experiment with colors, shapes and styles, taking
a step back when you're finished and having a sense of artistic accomplishment." Due to it's emotional
essence, abstraction is the style of painting he truly loves. Savarino's paintings
are in galleries in Chicago, New York, and Atlanta. His works are also privately collected throughout the world. He has sold
over 1200 pieces. His latest projects include an oversize piece for Trump Place in New York and two paintings for ABC's
Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Gino has been invited to speak to students throughout Illinois schools. He never
stops learning and continues to develop new innovating techniques to provoke the mind.
